Getting Our Kicks~ Route 66 Vaca ~ Day 19~ Making a Bee Line

Ellis, KS to Columbia, MO
Just outside of Ellis, was so happy to see green again that didn't have to be irrigated.

Stopped in Salina, KS to check out "The Quilting Bee."

Bought a triangle quilting ruler as my souvenir.
Don't know why I didn't take pictures of the main street.
This was not a dead town.  It appeared no mall had come to kill this busy street.
All the stores, including a Dollar General were very busy.
The Yarn Store declared to be the "second friendliest yarn store in the world."
It was a couple of stores down the street, but I didn't go ask why.
Finally started getting into hills and trees in their peak of color.
Pulled off the highway to make a detour through Lawrence and had a beautiful drive.
Then traffic got crazy in Topeka and Kansas City, KS & MO.
Yep, when you look at the map, our ride home tomorrow is just about as the crow flies.
